DEER MANAGEMENT PROGRAM BEGINS

THIS WEEK’S CULLING DAYS:
There are a total of 18 tracts of municipal or private land within the Borough of Watchung approved for this season’s deer management program. Shooting is limited to the eighteen sites designated in the permit and will only be done from elevated tree stands. Not all sites approved in the 2009/2010 application will be utilized in the 2010 Management Program and culling will occur on 13 of the 18 approved sites. Those sites not being used are identified with a "strikethrough."
Culling agents will generally be in the Borough two days a week, with the initial culling date set for Monday, January 11, 2010
A 24-hour telephone hot line will be
in operation at the Watchung Borough Municipal Building and will provide
regularly updated advance information to residents as to which dates the tracts
are scheduled to be used. The hot line number is 908-756-0368. This information
will also be placed on Local Cable Access Channel 15, Watchung Radio 1610 AM and
posted on the Watchung Borough website:
